Course Description

This course is designed to help you learn the basics of the online teaching and move to more advanced topics, such as digital learning environment, different Learning Management Systems and delivery technologies, ADA compliance, social inequality in virtual environment, online pedagogies and their application in the classroom, and virtual office set up. Instruction around the world had to swiftly move online due to COVID-19, which left many gaps for students and instructors alike. The course will make a distinction between remote teaching and teaching online, and will discuss basics of course design, technologies for creating material and engaging students, methods of engaging learners and assessing their knowledge. It will address ADA compliance and accessibility management, as well as disadvantages that students overcome to succeed in an online classroom. The course will cover time management strategies, and peer support services available online, especially mentoring, coaching and certification programs.
